Book Stipend
Post 9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33)
You may be eligible for up to $1,000 each academic year. This benefit pays a stipend for books and supplies based on the number of credits you are enrolled in and your eligibility percentage. The stipend is paid directly to you from the VA using whatever payment method you've set up with them.
VR&E (Chapter 31)
You are eligible to have your required books and supplies paid for up to the amount approved by your Veteran Readiness Counselor (VRC). When you request certification through our office, MVS will create your book voucher to send to the GW Campus Store.
Once received, the GW Campus Store will create your account and notify you via email with your account information, special code, and detailed purchasing instructions.
If book information is not linked to your course on the GW Campus Store, you can do ONE of the following:
- Email your course syllabus to Janet Uzzell (GW Campus Store). The book information will be updated to allow you to place your online order.
NOTE: This process will add a few days to your delivery time. - Contact your VRC to discuss purchasing the book yourself through another party (i.e. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.) and being reimbursed directly through VR&E.
