As a Veteran Readiness & Employment (Chapter 31) student, you are eligible to have your required textbooks paid for through Voc Rehab.
The process for ordering books has recently changed to go completely online.
Please contact our office to have a book voucher written and delivered to the campus store. If you do not have a current 1905 from your counselor on file, we will not be able to write your voucher.
Once the campus store has the voucher, they will create an account for you. They will notify you via email with your account information and code within 1-2 business days. This email will also include the detailed purchasing instructions for books and supplies.
If textbook information is not linked to your course on the campus store’s website, you have two options. One, you may email the course syllabus for that class to Hope Anderson at the campus store who will use your syllabus to update the textbook information for the course. This will then allow you to place your online order for that course. This process will add a few days to your delivery time. Two, you may contact your counselor to discuss purchasing the book yourself through another party (i.e. Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.) and being reimbursed directly through Voc Rehab.
In order to receive your book stipend, you must set up a direct deposit with the Department of Veteran Affairs. You can receive an annual book stipend in an amount up to $1,000 per academic year. The amount you receive is based on the number of credit hours you are taking. Active duty and dependents are also eligible for book stipends if they are using military education benefits.
