The Second Annual Celebration of VALOR
On Friday, October 28th, GW VALOR hosted its second annual Celebration of VALOR Alumni event, at the Arts Club of Washington. At this event, many GW alumni with military backgrounds were able to connect with current VALOR students. GW VALOR alumni Dominic Amaral, an Army veteran and graduate of the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, was the keynote speaker. Mr. Amaral discussed the importance of friendship, brotherhood, and lifelong connections that came from his time at GW. A self-proclaimed history nerd, Mr. Amaral tied in his discussion of brotherhood to his current work studying soldiers’ correspondences in the Army’s archives.
GW works daily to maintain and improve the VALOR community for students, and our efforts do not end when each student graduates. The VALOR family at GW will always welcome back our veterans and dependents. We will continue our alumni outreach efforts, and hope to see you all at next year’s Celebration of VALOR.
Once again, GW VALOR would like to thank the Arts Club of Washington for its hospitality and continued friendship. We appreciate Mr. Amaral taking the time to come and speak to us, it's always great to see a familiar face. Thank you to GW Vets for their support of VALOR, and last but not least, thank you to the current students and graduates who attended our event!
